Golden Garden Dinner Table Design

This table had two different designs…I’ll show the other one in a separate post.

Table one (this post): Floral centerpieces and no name tags.

Table two: Snack board centerpiece, more florals, and assigned seating.

Before I start to build a table, there’s always an end goal.

Golden Garden Table Goals:

  • Stick to fresh flowers from the garden
  • Keep it light bright and airy
  • Use the mustard color napkins.

The flowers that were clipped from the garden were White Jasmine, Coriander flowers and wild Lupine (the purple ones) that grew from seed. Honestly, I think White Jasmine is one of the BEST smelling plants ever!  It’s soft, elegant and intoxicating in a good way. Outside of the smell, I’m into the texture it gave the table.

Let’s chat coriander vs. cilantro for a second. The words get mixed up all the time. In some countries the plant is Coriander and in others it’s Cilantro. I’m not sure of all of the scientific naming facts, but what I do know is when Cilantro starts to bolt or the weather warms up, it shoots off VERY tall stalks that are filled with tiny white blooms. The flowers will eventually turn into Coriander seeds that can be dried and used as a spice. If you look towards the bottom of the Coriander Seed stalk you can see the seeds forming.

I love the dainty look of a Coriander flower, so I clipped a few and put them in a bud vase. If you don’t like the smell of cilantro, this probably isn’t for you.

If candles are allowed in the event space or home, I use them. Tapers, votives, battery lights and scented, I love them all.

Cheers!

Stay tuned for Table #2!
