Every morning I take a loop in the garden. I pluck bugs off of leaves, water, pull weeds and harvest. From time to time I bring my camera out to document everything. It helps me troubleshoot and keep up with what I plant from season to season.
Here are a few things from this morning:
Caught a little bee on the green onion blossom.
If you’re new to gardening, radish are the way to go. They’re fast, perfect for small spaces, and grow pretty much anywhere. This season I companion planted to save space. I sowed the seeds next to and underneath my tomatoes plants. It worked quite well and we had a consistent harvest. There are a ton of varieties you can choose from, but the English Breakfast variety are my favorite.
Little Gem lettuce. So delicate and fluffy!
The apple tree blossoms have started forming into little apples and should be ready for fall.
Recognize that? If not, it’s Sorrel! This has been in the raised bed for years and just keeps growing and growing. I use it in smoothies and salads.
The Summer plants are in and I’ll document those soon.
